Kindle 3 Release Date: 6″ Kindle eReader 3rd Generation Release Date
Kindle 6-inch eReader Third Generation is about to be released this month. Customers who placed their early orders are waiting out for Kindle 3 release date. The original plan for Kindle 3 release date is on August 17, 2010. Well, it is now time for the Kindle 3rd Generation because it’s been more than a year since the Kindle 2 eReader was released.
Those who weren’t able to place their orders before August 1, 2010 has to wait for the second batch of Kindle 3 release date. It is because both the 3rd generation Kindle Wi-Fi and Kindle Free 3G + Wi-Fi are temporarily sold out. The second Kindle 3 release date is on September 8, 2010.
Again, those who ordered before the 1st of August must wait for the original Kindle 3 release date on the 17th of August 2010 while those who ordered later than the said date shall receive it on the 8th of September.

Is it really releasing AUGUST 17? I thought it was August 27?
@wes, Si, August 27th. So if you ordered before August 1st it will ship then.
Why are you holding orders for the Kindle 2 and not shipping to the stores? I feel this is a ploy to hopefully force people to pay the higher price for the newer model. This is not good business.
