You can now download Kindle 2 app for your iPhone 3G phones for free from the iTunes store. Kindle 2, for your info, is the latest wireless E-book reader and it is sold for $359 at Amazon. Needless to say, Kindle 2 is far from cheap. Not only is the unit a bit pricey but also the E-books that you have to download for Kindle 2 (variable amount, $9.99 and above, but definitely not free). However iPhone users in the US have the ability to download the Kindle 2 app from the iTunes store or iTunes 8 (which obviously angered those who purchased Kindle 2 for $359).

Many are wondering why Amazon gave the Kindle 2 app for iPhone 3G free. Yeah, it’s downloadable for free in select locations like the US. Worse, these buyers have already purchased Kindle 2 units from the Amazon store. Those concerns are Amazon’s. Even we cannot imagine how this happened. The Kindle 2 wireless E-book reader had been publicized tremendously all over the net for the couple of months and many have pre-ordered units at Amazon even before its official release.

Unless of course if you are the cash you will save, you’ll probably want to have an iPhone 3G and download the free Kindle 2 app from the iTunes store and forget about spending $359 on a Kindle 2 wireless E-book reader.
