Cheap Energy i504 Tablet PC Price and Release Date
Looks like even Spanish electronics maker, Energy Sistim could not resist the current Android tablet craze like other companies. The company has just announced that their 5-inch Energy i504 Tablet device will be commercially available on December 9. The release date of the product will be part of the pre-Christmas sale of the company.
Another 5-inch Android tablet is coming out. It's not from China or Korea, the Energy i504 is being released by a Spanish manufacturer!
The Energy i504 boasts a Rockchip ARM CPU and 256MB RAM. The smaller 5-inch display size is a good alternative to the common 7-inch configuration because it’s a lot more pocketable. While it has a smaller screen size, the Energy i504 still offers a very sharp 800 x 480 resolution.
Since this device is powered by a Rockchip 2818 processor (CPU at 600MHz + DSP at 560MHz) it can play 720p HD videos smoothly. I’m happy they didn’t use VIA’s chip because it really sucks.
This device ships with official and unmodified Android OS 2.1 so you are guaranteed full compatibility with all apps available from the Android Market. Chinese companies have been churning out cheap Android tablets with a modified Android OS – this can cause some apps not to run or crash.
Aesthetics-wise, the Energy i504 Tablet PC is a beautifully-crafted gadget despite it being a cheap tablet PC. It’s a small piece of eyecandy worthy of a higher price tag. Energy Sistim is offering the Energy i504 for as low as $109 for the 2GB model. This is even lower than the price of Sylvania Android OS 2.1 Tablet PC and ZTE Light Android Tablet.
If you want a higher storage capacity, I suggest you get the 8GB model which will sell for only $186. This is superb buy if you ask me. I’m also happy that the Energy i504 also a foldable kick-stand to help you watch a movie or read an e-book more comfortably. There’s also a trackball on the side and a VGA webcam. Perfect!
For the price, we’re giving Energy i504 Tablet PC a positive review. With specs and features highlighted in the press release of the company, this Tablet PC looks like promising in terms of possibe sales in the future when it’s launched in the market.
