HTC Flyer 7-inch Android OS 2.3 Tablet Coming Soon to Best Buy
HTC announced at CTIA 2011 that Best Buy will have exclusive rights to market the much-anticipated Wi-Fi only HTC Flyer tablet. Best Buy’s retail shops and online website will start selling the HTC Flyer Tablet PC this spring or as early as April.
Best Buy won exclusive rights to market the HTC Flyer WiFi model with Android OS in the USA.
With Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab already making success, HTC hopes Best Buy can also help them convince customers to try out their first ever Android tablet computer product. Scott Anderson, Merchandising Chief at Best Buy Mobile, says,
Over the past few months we’ve seen several new tablets enter the market, and we’re especially excited to partner with HTC to bring the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer to our customers as a national retail launch exclusive.
The HTC Flyer has a 7-inch multi-touch screen that boasts 102 4x 600 sharpness. It is powered by a single-core 1.5 GHz SnapDragon chip. It will ship with Google’s Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread instead of version 3.0 Honeycomb that is in the Motorola Xoom 10.1″ Smart Tablet PC.

Best Buy has not released any final pricing and official release date for the HTC Flyer. But the company says it will definitely come before June. We can safely assume this Wi-Fi version will go for less than $500. So, watch out for HTC Flyer tablet release date announcement at Best Buy!
