Remember the original Dell Streak? Well, the Dell product’s 5-inch display size won critical acclaim but wasn’t a commercial success so they rolled out the Dell Streak 7 4G Tablet PC. Itoos is another company trying to convince people that a 5-inch Android tablet will do them good or even better than a 7-inch one.
The new Itoos i58 Android 2.2 mini tablet PC is set to ship out. Small enough to fit a pants pocket, the Itoos i58 also sports a non-traditional white body design which will surely attract more buyers just for style factor alone.
Not much has been leaked about this product. The manufacturer has yet to final specs sheet for the Itoos i58 5-inch Android Tablet PC. We can only speculate on what processor and how much RAM does this one have. One thing is for sure, the design is not for children’s use unlike the LeapFrog LeapPad Tablet PC.
The only details revealed so far is that Itoos i58 Tablet Computer has a multi-touch capacitive display, microSD slot, G-sensor, USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, WiFi and 720p HD video decoding. The Android 2.2 OS means this device will most probably support better battery management and Adobe Flash Player 10.1.
Itoos also made it clear that this one will have official Android Market app pre-installed. The HDMI out option will at least make it possible for Itoos i58 owners to enjoy their 720p HD videos on larger HDTV or LCD monitors.
I’m not really into smallish computers but I know there are many of you who will appreciate the compact design of the Itoos i58. The Dell Streak was a very powerful device in a very pocket-friendly size but it did not win many paying customers. Let’s just wait and see if this new white-only Itoos i58 does better than Dell’s product. Hopefully, Itoos i58 Android Tablet PC will be released at a cheap price.
