Mouse Computer LuvPad WN101-P Windows 7 Tablet PC with ExTouch Software
Microsoft doesn’t plan to release the Windows 8 until late 2012 and if you can’t wait that long then you should try buying a Windows 7 computer like the new Motion J3500 Rugged Tablet PC and LuvPad WN101-P by Mouse Computer.
The Mouse Computer LuvPad WN101-P Tablet PC runs on Windows 7 Professional but the manufacturer also installed a special ExTouch User Interface to improve the touch experience for this device. As many of know, Windows 7 was never designed for touch operations like Android OS and iOS are. Mouse Computer has therefore solved this problem and they are claiming the ExTouch will deliver very efficient touch-based computing.
LuvPad WN101-P Tablet PC comes with Windows 7 OS but features the ExTouch user interface.
Hardware-wise, this tablet PC is powered by the just-released 1.5 GHz Intel Z670 Oak Trail-based processor like the like the Toshiba WT310/C Win7 Tablet PC.
Aside from HyperThreading and Enhanced Intel SpeedStep support, the Z670 CPU is also being praised for being super power efficient, its max TDP is only 3W. Mouse Computer gave the LuvPad WN101-P tablet PC 2GB of RAM and 32GB of solid state drive (SSD).
The 10.1-inch is a multi-touch capacitive LCD widescreen display (1024x600p). The LuvPad WN101-P boasts built-in stereo speakers, 1.3Megapixel webcam, WiFi b/g/n, SD/SDHC card slot, Realtek ALC269 audio CODEC, accelerometer, light sensor, USB 2.0 port, mini HDMI, and it has a 3650 mAh Lithium-polymer battery that’s rated to last up to 6 hours.
Mouse Computer is selling the LuvPad WN101-P Windows 7 tablet PC in Japan for 59,800 Yen or around $765, higher than a new I-O Data ALIMO Android Slate PC. Pretty expensive but this includes a free copy of KingSoft OFFICE 2010 Standard Edition and the ExTouch software also added to the extra cost.
The LuvPad WN101-P Tablet PC with ExTouch UI was launched in Japan last month. Hopefully, it will also soon hit the US and European markets.
