Tech observers are already ripe with rumors regarding the upcoming release of the Motorola X2. Several tech news sites are already passing around leaked details about this purportedly super Tablet PC on the works inside Motorola’s lab.
Motorola Xoom 2 10-inch Tablet PC will supposedly sport a true HD 2048x1536p resolution, making it the world’s first slate PC to do so.
Another very intriguing detail that got leaked is that the Xoom 2 will be powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 Kal-El processor and if you don’t know what it is, here’s a short run-up. The Tegra 3 Kal-EL will be the first quad-core ARM Cortex A9 SoC that features a 12-core graphics accelerator.
If this rumor proves true then the Motorola Xoom 2 will perform as fast as most modern laptops running on Intel Core i7 such as the MSI GX680 15.6″ Gaming Notebook PC!
Those who know more about the tech specs of Tegra 3 understands why Xoom 2 will be able to produce a display resolution of 2048x1536p HD resolution. As per Nvidia’s released data sheet, the Kal-El chip can output video up to 2560×1600 resolutions! So the rumors are actually related and the picture is becoming clearer.
If the Motorola Xoom 10.1″ Smart Tablet PC featured the Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the Motorola Xoom will use Android OS 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich as its default operating system. Industry observers concur that Motorola will most probably unveil and launch the Xoom 2 during 2012 CES event.
