Adobe Flash Development Update: Adobe Flash 3D Technology is On Its Way
Adobe Flash 3D is going to be enjoyed by billions of users worldwide despite the scathing attack of Apple, Adobe pushes forward in making Flash a better internet standard. Adobe officially announced on their Flash blog that they are now working on a new set of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that will let developers create real Adobe Flash 3D objects in creating exciting Flash games and other applications! Take that Steve Jobs, Adobe loves Flash, now casual gamers will love Adobe Flash 3D even more!
It is a given fact that 90% of browser-based games are all made with Flash programming. Zynga has made hundreds of millions of dollars on their Flash-based games like Farmville and CafeWorld. It goes to say that even though Apple is berating Adobe Flash, more than 2 billion people around the world still loves this old internet plug-in. Zynga’s games are all 2D-graphics but they managed to earn the loyalty of 300 million daily players! With the introduction of true 3D objects on Flash SDK, expect game developers to create more sophisticated browser-based games. This announcement from Adobe promises to produce desktop-quality gaming right on your internet browser with just Flash Player installed. Just imagine FarmVille running on FireFox but with the beautiful 3D graphics settings of modern PC games like Mafia 2 or GTA San Andreas!
Adobe is reinforcing its domination of online gaming by letting Flash developers use 3D objects on their apps. The company mentioned a possible beta release of Adobe Flash 3D whose release date is slated in October. Adobe’s Thibault Imbert said “I tell you, some serious stuff is coming for 3D developers.” He is referring to the upcoming Adobe Max Conference scheduled on October 27, 2010. If this plan pushes through, Adobe Flash will remain relevant for the next decade in spite of the threat of HTML 5.
