Battlefield 1943 is a video game developed for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. This World War II video game is part of the Battlefield Series. Battlefield 1943 belongs on the genre of first person shooter action video games. It was developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and designed by Gordon Van Dyke.
Battlefield 1943 is played online on a multiplayer mode with a maximum of 24 players. They could either play the role as an Imperial Japanese Navy or a United States Marine Corps. Battlefield 1943 features three military classes – infantryman, rifleman, and scout just like in Battlefield Heroes.

Battlefield 1943 PS3 version was set in three classic Battlefield maps: Wake Island, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima, while Battlefield 1943 Xbox 360 version has an additional Dogfight only map, the Coral Sea.
Battlefield 1943 video game was published by Electronic Arts. The Xbox 360 version was distributed by Xbox Live Arcade last June 8, 2009. While Battlefield 1943 PS3 version is released by PlayStation Network last June 9, 2009. The PC version will soon be released this coming September 2009.
