Philippine-based Cherry Mobile announced via their official Facebook page that they are now selling their latest Eclipse 2 Windows Mobile 6.5 phone for only 9,990 pesos (~US$225)! It’s the new version of their popular Eclipse Windows Mobile 6.5 OS handset that still sells for the same price of 9,990 pesos on retail. The Cherry Mobile Eclipse 2 offers the same features of its predecessor except for some minor changes.

Microsoft finally unveiled Windows Mobile 7 OS at Barcelona MWC 2010 to the surprise of everyone. The world’s richest tech company is out to re-conquer the mobile industry. Microsoft’s overwhelming success with its desktop Windows 7 operating system has emboldened it. According to the Wall Street Journal, Steve Ballmer is already in Spain getting ready to launch its much-anticipated and long-delayed smart phone operating system upgrade. Microsoft insiders have hinted to the Wall Street Journal that Microsoft’s boss himself will reveal Photon to the public on February 15 during the Mobile World Congress 2010. It was originally scheduled for release in 2009 but Microsoft engineers decided to enhance it further in an attempt to offer more features than Google’s Android OS – the operating system of Nexus One Superphone.

The Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System is now on another HTC mobile phone. Earlier this year, Windows Mobile 6.5 for HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Touch Diamond 2 was announced by Microsoft. However, Windows Mobile 6.5 was still under development and promised to release it at the second-half of the year. Well, it is now hot on the internet news that Windows Mobile 6.5 release date came simultaneous with the HTC Imagio Windows Phone release for Verizon Wireless. The latest mobile operating system, Windows 6.5 Mobile, is designed to support phones such as the new HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Touch Diamond 2. According to Microsoft, Windows Mobile 6.5 will increase its range of supported phones later this year. This will include mobile phones made by their partner sites. Windows Mobile 6.5 is an upgrade to the existing version 6.1 and aims to improve user experience in terms of easier access to updates from favorite Web services and work/personal email. Read more
