Please refer to the survey chart below, see that IE still holds 60% share which is more than double than its closest competitor, Firefox, who only managed to rake in 24.32%. Google’s Chrome is a far third with 7% but Netmarketshare reports that Google Chrome (latest version is 5 with built-in Adobe Flash Player) is actually the biggest gainer for the year, growing 32% higher! Both IE and Firefox declined and lost users to Chrome in 2010.

Everyone can now download the free Google Chrome 5.0.376.86 browser. Yes, Google has kept the promise it made back in April. The internet titan said before that they were planning to incorporate Adobe’s Flash Player plug-in into their free Google Chrome browser – a clear dig against Apple who has been mocking Flash as near-obsolete. And now after only two months, Google released Chrome version 5.0.376.86 with Flash already integrated. This partnership between the two companies further enhances Chrome’s reputation as the most secured browser to date. All Adobe Flash updates will remain hidden from the user but Google Chrome’s update feature will automatically install the necessary Adobe Flash update files without the need for user authentication.

Will Apple Replace Google with Microsoft’s Bing Search Engine?
The tech industry is abuzz with gossip that Apple is seriously pissed at Google’s release of its own smartphone, the Nexus One. These two former close allies have gotten on each other’s nerves more and more and the latest blow was Google’s act of releasing its own phone. Apple considers this a direct challenge to its iPhone dominance. While Apple didn’t bat an eyelash when Google made the Android operating systems open source and freely available to all smart phone makers, the Cupertino-based company is no longer happy with Google’s foray into the smart phone business. On the same day that Google launched its smart phone, Apple retaliated by announcing it has acquired Quattro Wireless, the leading company for mobile phone advertising! This is an obvious slap to Google, Apple is evidently saying “we are getting ready to challenge your advertising business.” Apple has sold millions of its iPhone and iPod Touch (iTouch) models and it can obviously use Quattro Wireless to sell ad space effectively without Google’s support.
