Notion Ink Adam Tablet PC Review: Cheaper but Better than Apple iPad

February 19, 2010 · Filed Under Laptops/Notebooks · 2 Comments

Which is better? The Notion Ink Adam Tablet PC or the Apple iPad? Before we compare Notion Ink Adam and Apple iPad Tablet PC, let us greet you all, Kung Hei Fat Choi! This year is the Chinese Year of the Metal Tiger but in the tech world, 2010 can also be called the Year of the Tablet PC. India-based company Notion Ink unveiled a prototype of its much- anticipated Adam Tablet PC at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress this year. The biblically-named Notion Ink Adam Tablet PC is a joy to witness because it is packed with considerable features that the much-hyped Apple iPad Tablet PC lacks. The most obvious of these advantages is the revolutionary hybrid 10-inch PixelQi transflective touch screen display. This astonishing display of the Notion Ink Adam Tablet PC has three functions; it can run in full color, black & white, and e-paper mode. The PixelQi 1024×758 display provides optimal benefits for viewing high-resolution photos and videos but can also go on ultimate power-saving mode when reading or writing plain documents.

Archos 9 PCTablet With Windows 7 Edition Review: Not A Good Combo

February 17, 2010 · Filed Under Laptops/Notebooks · 1 Comment

The initial release of the Archos 9 PCTablet last year suffered poor reviews. CNET review gave it a 2.5 stars rating because of its sluggish performance. Even users showed their dismay for the Archos 9, most of them giving it a negative review. Buyers called it an overpriced touchscreen netbook that retails for $550 (basic price) but is not even as fast as the low-range netbooks in the market. CNET and other reviewers put the blame on the mediocre 1.6GHz Atom Z510 processor which is single-threaded. The Windows 7 Starter edition was also lacking the full tablet features of Windows 7 that is why the Archos 9 wasn’t maximizing its sensitive touch screen.
