New Slim PS3 Technical Specs, Features and Price
Sony released a new slim PS3, the new Playstation 3 console is slightly cheaper than a regular PS3 unit. The price of the new slim PS3 is under $300 (plus shipping fee). Some features of the new PS3 slim edition include a high-definition blu-ray player, 120Gb internal hard drive, WiFi and Dualshock 3 gamepad (a very good improvement indeed).

It’s easy to update/upgrade the Playstation Portable (PSP) 3000 system software to firmware version 5.51. There are two ways to do a PSP 5.51 update – regular file download and network update. We did an update on our pink PSP 3000 using the network update procedure since our place has wifi.

Huge Sony PS3 Announcement Turned Out to Be PS2 Sale
After eagerly anticipating the PS3 announcement which we thought was mind-boggling and nerve-wreaking, Sony PS3 announcement turned out to be for the PS2. Price cuts on PS2 was announced a few hours ago where the Sony PlayStation 2 units will be sold for under 100 bucks starting April 1st (probably after the April 1 virus strike, lol!).

The battle between gaming consoles heats up as Microsoft released a report on the sales of Xbox 360 for 2008 claiming that Xbox 360 sold more than 28 million units in 2008, beating the sale of Playstation 3 (PS3) by 8 million units. PS3 Update 2.52: Sony Playstation PS3 Updates Firmware to 2.52
Sony just made a PS3 update to 2.52. This is a follow-up to Sony’s earlier update to PS3 firmware to 2.42 (PS3 Update 2.42 Ready for Download But Offers No Significant Improvement to the Old PS3 Firmware). This time, PS3 firmware is updated to 2.52 which includes the following improvements:
- The playback quality of some PS3 format software has been improved.
- A text entry issue that occurs when using the on-screen keyboard, USB keyboard or Bluetooth keyboard with some PS3 format software has been addressed.
Majority of Children in the US Play Video Games, Research Shows
I’ve always been keen on video games and video gaming especially among children. However, a recent study in the US stated that majority of children play video games (97% combined for males and females aged 12-17). In the Philippines, this situation is similar. Most Filipino children I know are addicted to video games. This reminds me of my old posts “Improve Reading Skills with Computer and Video Games” and “Best Video Games of 2008“.
