Palm webOS 1.4.5 Update Arrives for AT&T Subscribers via OTA
AT&T subscribers who own Palm Pre and Palm Pixi handsets finally get their long-delayed Palm webOS 1.4.5 update. The Palm webOS 1.4.5 upgrade was already promised by HP last May and other carriers like Sprint and Verizon got their OS update in June and August. No explanation was given why HP, new owner of Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: Palm), took so long in releasing the Palm webOS 1.4.5 update for AT&T subscribers. This new patch can be done Over-The-Air (OTA).
AT&T Palm Pre Plus Offer: Get it on Amazon for Only 1 Cent!
In my previous review of the Palm Pre Plus, I extolled its superior merits over the iPhone 3G. While its lackluster sales in the U.S. have dampened public interest for it, I still urge you to take advantage of this crazy offer from Amazon. The online retailer is now offering the Palm Pre Plus for only $0.01. This is not a typo, my friends. It really says that, check out Amazon and search for the item and see for your self how low this smartphone’s price has become. Naturally, this promo price comes with a service contract. If you are on planning to switch carrier to AT&T and wants to try my favorite mobile operating system, Palm webOS, get this cheap deal for Palm Pre Plus smartphone now.
Palm Inc Is Losing Money Fast, Could Go Bankrupt
The company that started the PDA revolution 14 years ago is now on the brink of going bankrupt or being taken over. Palm has just released their Quarterly financial report to the Securities and Exchange Commission and it sent shock to investors. The company has been losing money since 2008 but the 3rd quarter results for the year 2010 are even worst. Palm reported a $110.8 million loss from total revenues of $343.93 million. Wall Street was greatly disappointed by Palm’s deteriorating performance. It already lost $753.47 million dollars for the fiscal year 2009 ending last May 31 of last year. Experts are already predicting it may not have enough money to operate independently until the end of 2010. But the Palm management is still optimistic about its future that may now seem bleak and hopeless.
AT&T Offers Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus, Might Help Save Palm Inc.
In a bid to improve its financial viability, Palm Inc., has agreed to let AT&T carry their flagship phone models, Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus. The company made this official announcement last March 22. More than 80 million subscribers of AT&T can soon experience the innovative webOS platform as early as May 2010. The Palm Pre Plus smartphone will retail for $149.99 while the Palm Pixi Plus will cost $49.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Of course, those prices come with a two-year service contract from A&T.

Palm Pre Plus Smartphone Release Date on Verizon: Price, Deal and Features
One of the most memorable surprises at the Consumer Electronics Show was Palm’s exciting demo of its Palm Pre Plus Smartphone. It almost overshadowed Google Nexus One Android phone’s fanfare. Just half-a-dozen years ago Palm used to be the king of handheld computers and smartphones. But Apple’s iPhone and RIM Blackberry has gravely diminished Palm’s popularity. Last year’s initial release of Palm Pre and Palm Pixi on the Sprint network failed to impress customers who all flocked to iPhone and Blackberry models.
