Official Nokia N900 Release Date on Amazon Delayed and Still Unknown

November 25, 2009 · Filed Under Cell Phones/Mobile Phones · Comment

We’re terribly itching to place our Nokia N900 mobile computer (with Maemo Linux OS) pre-orders on Amazon but the official release date is still not known up to now. The unlocked Nokia N900 release date on Amazon was announced official on November 18 (our Time zone) in the US, but the cell phone was a no-show on Amazon (except for the pre-order page), to the dismay of anxious cell phone buyers ready to place their orders at the first minute of its actual release in the market. This is the third delay in the schedule set by Nokia on Amazon in a span of three months since September 2009.

What makes Nokia N900 release date a much anticipated event on Amazon (one of the official sellers/distributors of this phone)? Simple. N900 is a smartphone that packs the power of a computer. Categorically, it is a computer in a package smaller than netbooks or tablet PC’s like Fujitsu FPCM21341 LifeBook U810. With a 3.5-inch touchscreen, many expect that Nokia N900 will be easier to navigate and manipulate. The screen resolution is 800 x 480 pixels. One of the best things about this smartphone (or mobile computer, if you wish to correct this writer) is the huge storage expansion Nokia allocated for this device. The Nokia N900 smartphone storage capacity can be upgraded up to 48 Gigabytes via compatible microSD cards (16GB maximum external memory card limit). The built-in memory is 32GB, FYI.

The rumored price of Nokia N900 prior to its release date (which had been delayed a few times) was considerably higher than this, like in the range of $700-750.
