Windows 7 Review | Windows 7 Features and System Requirements
I’m so excited that Windows 7 is out but before actually formatting one of my hard drives for the new OS, let’s see Windows 7’s minimum system requirements:
- 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
With these system requirements, we can safely say that PCs purchased 3 years ago can upgrade to the new OS. I even saw on YouTube some people bragging about Windows 7 features that it can be installed on really old PCs without significant problems. Great if that is the case!

PC or Video Games Compatible Under Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate
As promised in our article on Windows 7 Update on Gaming, I am posting the PC games or video games for PC that have been found compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade (full edition can also now be purchased on Amazon, FYI). For PC games or video games afficionados, this could be viewed as a good news. For one, some games that run under Windows XP and Vista can still be played normally under Win7 without worries (for now). We’re not just sure if bugs or errors while playing these games will be discovered in the future. It’s too early to tell considering the short period of time Windows 7 has been released.
Windows 7 RTM Release Date and Download Schedules
Windows 7 RTM release date, according to the Windows 7 team, is on August 16, 2009. You can download a Windows 7 RTM copy via Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) Portal (English Version) if you are a Microsoft Partner Program Gold/Certified Member. If not, then Windows RTM download date will come a bit later. The availability of Windows 7 RTM is variable, depending on who you are, reports say. Read more
Windows 7 RTM Builds and Release Denied by Microsoft
Windows 7 RTM (Release to Manufacture) build 600.16385.090713-1255 has leaked online. This RTM of Windows 7 was denied by Microsoft stating in their blog that the upcoming desktop operating system is not scheduled for RTM until the 3rd or 4th week of this month.
