Apple Offers Free iPhone 4 Cases to iPhone 4G Owners Due to Antenna and Signal Problem

July 22, 2010 · Filed Under Cell Phone Accessories · Comment

You want some free iPhone 4 cases for your “defective” iPhone 4 antenna? No problem, you can get a free iPhone 4 bumper case or two with the unexpected iPhone 4G promo launched by Apple. Last week, Apple’s Steve Jobs made a press conference wherein he acknowledged that the antenna and signal reception problem in the iPhone 4 is real. He didn’t apologize for this miscue on the part of Apple and instead claimed that all smart phone models suffer reception problems like the iPhone 4 does. However, journalists who attended the event were persistent on asking Jobs on how will Apple fix this problem. The recent iOS 4.0.1 update failed to fix the antenna problem of the iPhone 4. Even the iPhone iOS 4.1 pre-final release didn’t solve the iPhone 4G reception problem either. Jobs dismissed the request for product recall and instead announced that his company will be giving away free cases to all iPhone 4 users. This special free iPhone 4 casing will prevent human hands from interfering with the iPhone 4’s external antenna.

iPhone 4 or iPhone 4G/HD Ships With 512MB of Built-in RAM

June 23, 2010 · Filed Under iPhone 3G Updates/News · 1 Comment

The latest iPhone 4, iPhone 4G/iPhone HD (as what many still know), will ship with an astonishing 512MB of RAM built into it. Ever since the first iPhone release in 2007, Apple has declined to publish or advertise the actual processor speed and/or amount of RAM in their smart phone products. The company has been vigilant to hide these technical details from curious customers. This policy is still enforced today for the iPhone 4. Nothing on its specs page on Apple’s website will tell you how fast is the new A4 Soc CPU or how much is the default RAM. Technically-inclined people had to tear down their iPhones to find out that the original iPhone and iPhone 3G had only 128MB RAM, and that the 3GS model released last year had 256MB of default RAM.

June 11, 2010 · Filed Under iPhone 3G Updates/News · 10 Comments

iPhone 4 was officially announced at the WWDC! After the Gizmodo prototype leak debacle (iPhone 4G/iPhone HD scandal), Steve Jobs finally unveiled the latest incarnation of the iPhone smart phone at WWDC. Surprisingly, much to the disappointment of earlier speculators, this phone isn’t going to be called the iPhone 4G or iPhone HD. Jobs said this next-gen model’s official moniker is iPhone 4. This is to signify its 4th generation release. Remember that the original iPhone 2G was released last 2007 which was followed by the iPhone 3G model and lastly by the 3GS.

iPhone Scandal Involves the iPhone 4G/iPhone HD Prototype and Gizmodo

April 29, 2010 · Filed Under iPhone 3G Updates/News · 5 Comments

The iPhone Scandal involves the iPhone 4G/iPhone HD Prototype, allegedly lost in a bar and Gizmodo. Last week Gizmodo won the scoop of the year for 2010. The tech blog site managed to steal thunder from almost all its competitors by snagging a genuine prototype of what appears to be an early version of the upcoming iPhone 4G or iPhone HD from Apple. Gizmodo is claiming it’s the real deal in spite of it being camouflaged to look like last year’s iPhone 3GS. They said they dissembled it and found it to be containing authentic and never-before seen components like those found on previous iPhone models.

iPhone HD or iPhone 4G: New Generation of the Apple iPhone Coming in 2010

April 10, 2010 · Filed Under iPhone 3G Updates/News · 5 Comments

iPhone HD has become a huge rumor since it was presented as a concept in the 2009 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. It was first called the iPhone 4G concept then became the iPhone Pro. It will most likely be called the Apple iPhone HD because of its display resolution of 960 x 640 pixels. It will definitely be better than the iPhone 3G and 3GS models.

Will Apple Replace Google with Microsoft’s Bing Search Engine?

March 10, 2010 · Filed Under Microsoft · 2 Comments

The tech industry is abuzz with gossip that Apple is seriously pissed at Google’s release of its own smartphone, the Nexus One. These two former close allies have gotten on each other’s nerves more and more and the latest blow was Google’s act of releasing its own phone. Apple considers this a direct challenge to its iPhone dominance. While Apple didn’t bat an eyelash when Google made the Android operating systems open source and freely available to all smart phone makers, the Cupertino-based company is no longer happy with Google’s foray into the smart phone business. On the same day that Google launched its smart phone, Apple retaliated by announcing it has acquired Quattro Wireless, the leading company for mobile phone advertising! This is an obvious slap to Google, Apple is evidently saying “we are getting ready to challenge your advertising business.” Apple has sold millions of its iPhone and iPod Touch (iTouch) models and it can obviously use Quattro Wireless to sell ad space effectively without Google’s support.
