But don’t get too excited because you might find the prices of these Globe iPhone 3G plans way too expensive. Yes, for average cell phone users in the Philippines, the Globe iPhone 3G plans are very expensive and I would not recommend it to anyone I know.
Unlocked iPhone 3G in the Philippines Would Be Better for Cell Phone Users
The iPhone 3G in the Philippines is exclusively distributed by Globe Telecom through post-paid plans. This means that iPhone 3G in the Philippines are not unlocked to avail of other services offered by other networks like Smart Telecoms and Sun Cellular. Cell phone buyers do not have a choice but to give in to Globe Telecom’s rates if they buy an iPhone 3G in the Philippines. Globe announced in their website that it will bring iPhone 3G to the Philippines on August 22, 2008. iPhone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone plus 3G networking that is twice as fast (depending on site conditions), built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs hundreds of third party applications available through the new App Store.
