October 2, 2008 · Filed Under Internet Security · 5 Comments

Beware of Limbo Malware that hacks bank accountsDo you transact online and do online banking? If yes, then beware of Limbo malware. It’s a Trojan horse program that can hijack your account by injecting itself in web browsers and requests bank card numbers and PIN numbers from innocent or unknowing users.

According to IDG News Service, the malware known as Limbo “integrates itself into a Web browser using a technique called HTML injection, said Uri Rivner, head of new technologies at RSA Consumer Solutions. Cuil (pronounced as “cool”) is a new search engine that promises to index pages on the world wide web two to three times as much as Google does at present.  For webmasters/bloggers, this might sound like a very good idea.  If Cuil’s promise would be fulfilled, our sites would be indexed more effectively and presumably faster, thus, could increase traffic to our websites because if more pages are indexed, more internet users would be able to find our sites. Well, at least that’s our best hope.  For internet users, this could also mean that they would find more articles about their keyword searches. On the other hand, how good can Cuil filter relevant articles and spam sites is up to now unknown because Cuil is still new in the business.
