Windows 7 Review | Windows 7 Features and System Requirements

November 12, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 4 Comments

I’m so excited that Windows 7 is out but before actually formatting one of my hard drives for the new OS, let’s see Windows 7’s minimum system requirements:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

With these system requirements, we can safely say that PCs purchased 3 years ago can upgrade to the new OS. I even saw on YouTube some people bragging about Windows 7 features that it can be installed on really old PCs without significant problems. Great if that is the case!

PC or Video Games Compatible Under Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate

October 22, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 2 Comments

As promised in our article on Windows 7 Update on Gaming, I am posting the PC games or video games for PC that have been found compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade (full edition can also now be purchased on Amazon, FYI). For PC games or video games afficionados, this could be viewed as a good news. For one, some games that run under Windows XP and Vista can still be played normally under Win7 without worries (for now). We’re not just sure if bugs or errors while playing these games will be discovered in the future. It’s too early to tell considering the short period of time Windows 7 has been released.

If you have a Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional editions, you could now upgrade your OS to Windows 7 Ultimate, the top version of the latest desktop PC operating system from Microsoft. Windows 7 Update on Gaming | Will Your Games Run on Windows 7?

October 22, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 2 Comments

After so much testing on the new Windows 7, most of the games tested ran smoothly and without noticeable degradation in game performance and stability. This was done by some of our teams and other sites which deal with one of the latest desktop PC operating systems in the market today.

Come to think that Windows 7 is still in its early stages, any glitch that may come along the way will be fixed and improved. Windows Vista introduced the games explorer which is improved on Windows 7 (see screenshot below) taking Windows 7 gaming a mile further. This feature serves as a central repository of games, and instead of looking for the shortcuts in the menu or the links on the desktop, everything is conveniently located in one organized place.
