Windows 7 Review | Windows 7 Features and System Requirements

November 12, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 4 Comments

I’m so excited that Windows 7 is out but before actually formatting one of my hard drives for the new OS, let’s see Windows 7’s minimum system requirements:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

With these system requirements, we can safely say that PCs purchased 3 years ago can upgrade to the new OS. I even saw on YouTube some people bragging about Windows 7 features that it can be installed on really old PCs without significant problems. Great if that is the case!

October 26, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 2 Comments

Do you think Microsoft Windows 7 Family Pack price is too high? For us, the answer is not really. That’s our personal evaluation of the prices Microsoft announced a few months ago. The Family Pack version of Windows 7 is priced at $149.95 when it was first introduced to the public. In fact, MS inadvertently confirmed that the price and availability of Windows 7 family pack upgrade  DVD ROM by referencing it in the licensing terms of a test version of Windows 7 RC2 that leaked onto the Internet.

PC or Video Games Compatible Under Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate

October 22, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 2 Comments

As promised in our article on Windows 7 Update on Gaming, I am posting the PC games or video games for PC that have been found compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade (full edition can also now be purchased on Amazon, FYI). For PC games or video games afficionados, this could be viewed as a good news. For one, some games that run under Windows XP and Vista can still be played normally under Win7 without worries (for now). We’re not just sure if bugs or errors while playing these games will be discovered in the future. It’s too early to tell considering the short period of time Windows 7 has been released.

If you have a Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional editions, you could now upgrade your OS to Windows 7 Ultimate, the top version of the latest desktop PC operating system from Microsoft. July 18, 2009 · Filed Under Windows · 1 Comment

One thing many users do not like about Microsoft products is they’re never free. Windows 7 is one of those. Having said that, you should download the free Windows 7 RC2 (?) while expiration date is not yet here. Yes, we just did take advantage of the downloadable Windows 7 Release  Candidate  while it lasts.
