Gartner, Inc., the world’s leading tech research company has issued their official OS analysis report for 2010. And it’s a no big surprise that Microsoft still commands a near-monopoly on the $30-billion annual business for computer operating systems. As per Gartner’s report, Microsoft took the lion share of 78.6% of all commercial personal and business OS market. That giant slice gave Microsoft $23.84 Billion of revenue!

Windows 7 Sets Record Sales of 90M and Counting

Microsoft’s Chief Financial Officer Peter Klein proudly disclosed during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference that Windows 7 has achieved 90 million unit sales since its debut last October 2009. This makes it the fastest-selling operating system ever created in history. Not even Microsoft’s first loveable Windows 95 could match it. The 90 million figures is more than twice what Vista sold in the same timeframe.

Windows 7 Update on Gaming | Will Your Games Run on Windows 7?
