Recently, Nokia announced that Nokia N97, Nokia N97 Mini, older models E66 and E71 can be updated to the latest firmware. I doubt if many of my dearly-beloved readers have Nokia phones but a few of them especially from Europe, do still love Nokia in spite of the company’s clumsy smart phone strategy.

Over 7.7 Million Android OS Phones Sold in 2009, Canalys Sales Reports
Below is a graph of Canalys’ annual Android phone sales report (some statistics or figures in the chart are estimates). Notice the huge 1100% increase of Android Phone sales from 2008. This is rather misleading because new Android phones were only available for sale starting in the last quarter of 2008. But industry analysts from Canalys insists that even if they take into account an imaginary sales figure for the whole 2008 of around 2 million units, the 2009 sales of 7.7 million still represents an incredible 350% sales increase!

The iPhone Scandal involves the iPhone 4G/iPhone HD Prototype, allegedly lost in a bar and Gizmodo. Last week Gizmodo won the scoop of the year for 2010. The tech blog site managed to steal thunder from almost all its competitors by snagging a genuine prototype of what appears to be an early version of the upcoming iPhone 4G or iPhone HD from Apple. Gizmodo is claiming it’s the real deal in spite of it being camouflaged to look like last year’s iPhone 3GS. They said they dissembled it and found it to be containing authentic and never-before seen components like those found on previous iPhone models.
