EA Games’ Upcoming Medal of Honor Modern Version Raises Controversy
Video games giant Electronic Arts announced the new version of Medal Honor has taken flak for taking the realism concept into painful territory. The company has taken strident criticisms for the new Medal of Honor which, unlike Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 that is set on a fictional country, will feature Afghanistan as the game setting. I should say that this move by EA proved they are more courageous than Activision which only used a imaginary Middle East country for their billion-dollar-selling Modern Warfare 2. First-Person-Shooter games has achieved realism in terms of graphics and game play so EA (most probably) thought it would be nice to make the game setting realistic too!

Take for example the First-Person Shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (COD6 MW2) It has set a major milestone for all games with combined sales figures over $1 billion since November 10, 2009. It should be noted that this game already set a record for selling over $550 million in its first 5 days of release. It indeed surpassed the first week worldwide gross of blockbuster films Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and The Dark Knight.

The game Call of Duty (COD 6): Modern Warfare 2 is a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. With each sequel or installment to the game we expect some changes especially to graphics, visual content and sound. As part of our review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, we’d like first to say something about its new Texture Streaming feature. We were totally impressed! You can see a sample photo of the game (screenshots side-by-side) with and without Streaming. You will notice a huge difference in the texture of characters and maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (COD 6).
