First let me post what Digg required us – 09e3514ee10d4e078b9b344a008a607b – the Digg code needed to for us to automatically submit every article we have here starting today.
Since there had been a tremendous amount of spams experienced by our site, we’ve decided to do this. Many malicious spammers scrape our articles along with thousands of other legitimate websites just to feed their spam sites with quality content that they mix up and already brand as news. This in turn causes problems for us and to other legit sites I’m referring to.
I know the scraping is manual. I’m not new to this activity. I can pretty much distinguish manual scraping from automatic scraping (bots).
If you’ve been a regular reader here and have been helped by some members of our team with your problems on phones, laptops and other gadgets, please feel free to share our articles on Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Yahoo Buzz and other social networks or bookmarking sites. We have tested several free CMS softwares but we found Joomla to be the most flexible, easiest to manage and has tons of support and plugins. We have tested Drupal, Joomla, PHP-Nuke and Xoops in some of our test sites but Joomla simple bested them in many areas.
How To Test If Your WordPress Blog Can Send Pingbacks and Trackbacks
In relation to my problem on WordPress 2.7 and 2.7.1 Not Sending Pingbacks/Trackbacks, I would like to share what I have read about how to test if Your WordPress Blog can send pingbacks or not. The workaround is simple. All you have to do is link to the following article in one of your blog posts just like the one below:

Recently, I’ve been troubleshooting ping problems with this site. If you have observed, this blog is powered by WordPress 2.7.1 (upgraded from WordPress 2.7). I have not been able to send pingbacks/trackbacks to otehr sites and my own articles since transferring web hosts (from Host Monster to Inmotionhosting on April 7 this year). I can, by the way, receive pingbacks and (presumably) trackbacks.
Joomla as Free Content Management System (CMS)
Two days ago, Eric Nagal (a contributor to this blog + long-time friend) and myself were evaluating the site he developed for a Local Government Unit in Ilocos Norte. He showed me the site which he did using the free Joomla 1.0 (opensource). The layout and functionality of the site are indeed very very good and so I am hoping that someday, this guy’s efforts would pay off. Maybe a simple appreciation and some content as contributions to the site from his co-workers would do just fine. But until now, I’m not even sure if appreciation was even given to the poor fellow. Maybe I should give him money as a form of rewarding his good and unselfish deed.
Blogger Blog Hijacked
A few minutes ago, I did a little bloghopping and my blogger-friend Ellaine of Lainy’s Musing claimed that her Blogger blog (formerly located at www.lainyonline.com) was hijacked by an unknown entity. That being said, she has transferred her site to WordPress, a very efficient and flexible content management system (CMS). I was even telling here to migrate to WordPress a long time ago but since her first blogging platform was Blogger, she stuck with it for a while only to realize that blogs hosted by Blogger are very vulnerable to hijacking.
New Year Update: Happy New Years 2009!
Happy New Years 2009 to all!!! I hope 2009 will bring us all good fortune and good health. As we leave 2008 behind, let us all pray that 2009 will give us new hopes, new dreams and new cars. lol!

Blog Contest Update 2
For contestants and voters of the Free Web Hosting for Your WordPress Blogs Contest (domains not included as prizes), this post is an update to the contest. Tomorrow (December 25) will be the deadline of submission of entries for contestants, December 30 for voters.
Blog Contest Update: Deadline for Contestants Extended!
Some readers asked me if I could extend the deadline for the ongoing blog contest in this site. Some of them argued that the preparation for the Holiday Seasons is consuming their time. Their offline work also prevent them from joining blog contests even if they want to. With these arguments, the author was convinced that indeed, more people should be given the chance to join the contest and Win a Free WordPress Blog Hosting for One Year.
Having said that, I am officially extending the deadline for submission of entries for contestants until midnight of December 25, 2008 so that others can still join and have fun with us this season and get the chance to become our partners and friends starting 2009. For voters-only, the deadline will still be on December 30, 2008. Checking of entries and tabulation of scores must be accurate that is why we have allocated December 31 as a day to carry out those tasks.
Let this serve as a notice to all who have signified their intent to join the contest as contestants. For those whoa re already contestants, you can still ask your voters to convert as contestants to earn additional 20 points from each conversion. Merry Christmas in advance to all of you!
