New Facebook Worm: Threat and Behavior
The new Facebook Worm (Koobface) is a real threat to everyone, especially the users of affected social networks. Facebook worm has been discussed here a few hours ago but it seems this new threat needs to be discussed more for the education of our readers. First let’s look into the behavior of the new Facebook worm and how it can get your Facebook or Myspace accounts infected.
First a “friend request” link will be sent to you. If you click on that link, you will get a prompt message telling you that adobe flash update is necessary. If you click on this link, the executable file that will inject Facebook Worm or virus will be triggered and all hell will break loose as you will most likely want to forget your account. This is the basic behavior of the new Facebook worm/virus. It’s a real threat because your identity could be stolen by whoever made this malicious program.
