Windows Mobile 6.5 for HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Touch Diamond 2
The latest mobile operating system, Windows 6.5 Mobile, is designed to support phones such as the new HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Touch Diamond 2. According to Microsoft, Windows Mobile 6.5 will increase its range of supported phones later this year. This will include mobile phones made by their partner sites. Windows Mobile 6.5 is an upgrade to the existing version 6.1 and aims to improve user experience in terms of easier access to updates from favorite Web services and work/personal email.
Microsoft also said that “The new operating system features Windows Marketplace for Mobile, a rich and integrated marketplace for searching, browsing and purchasing mobile applications from Windows phones or from a PC by simply using a Windows Live ID. The new marketplace will be included with all Windows phones based on Windows Mobile 6.5, which will help consumers to easily find, install and experience those applications that fit their needs and make the phone truly personal. Developers, who have already built over 20,000 applications for Windows phones, will be able to offer applications to customers through the marketplace via a simple security and compatibility check from Microsoft.”

It’s great to hear, but I hope that MS improve mobile IE with the followings:
- Having access on secure websites
- Javascript and latest version of flash 8 to 10
- Certificates, have IE access those regardless!

It is September and the operating system is not yet out. When and where can HTC Touch Diamond 2 users get access to this? I was impressed by the comparison with iPhone operating system.

I’ve made the Windows Mobile 6.5 update to my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Verizon) and HTC Touch Diamond 2. So far the upgrade went well. Windows Mobile 6.5 is definitely an upgrade to the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Great job, Microsoft!
