PCLinuxOS: The Linux Distro With a Look and Feel of Windows

April 20, 2009 · Filed Under Linux Distros

We are currently downloading the PCLinuxOS 2009.1 release and from the looks of it, this Linux distro is looking more and more like Windows. We are not sure how will this Linux distro compare with Linux Ubuntu 9.04 (the latest release of Ubuntu). We love Linux but we cannot live without Windows (sigh). Most of our important programs are Windows-based. Even the games we play run exclusively under Windows. And this is the problem why cannot fully migrate Linux. Our hard drives are always Dual OS and partitioning is sometimes a problem.

In a few days, we will write a review about this. The download time will take a few hours (thanks to the huge 696MB ISO file and our slow internet connection). This is not the first time we have heard of PCLinuxOS. We just did not have enough time to test it. This time, we’ll try to accomplish that “feat”. Yeah, right. It’s already a feat because right now we cannot imagine how to maintain several sites with a very limited manpower to keep the posts coming. Too bad. Uggh!!!
