Linux Mint 6 Felicia XFCE CE RC1: New Linux Release
Linux Mint 6 Felicia: I haven’t fully tested yet Linux Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop Edition and I almost forgot about Linux Mint 6 (which was emailed by a friend two months ago). Now, here comes the latest udpate to Linux Mint 6 also known as “Felicia” XFCE CE RC1. I have once looked into the features and specs of Linux Mint 5 (Elyssa) and that Linux distro simply rocks. It was fast-loading and has lots of cool green wallpapers and themes. Green is relaxing to the eyes, FYI.
For Linux Mint 6 “Felicia” XFCE CE RC1, the same cool features are in store for Linux lovers. For now I would like to quote the basic description of Linux Mint 6 developers from their website.
Linux Mint 6 “Felicia” is “Based on Xubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, Linux 2.6.27, XFCE 4.4.2 and Xorg 7.4, Linux Mint 6 “Felicia” XFCE Community Edition comes with a brand new “Software Manager”, FTP support in mintUpload, proxy support and history of updates in mintUpdate, mint4win (a Linux Mint installer for Microsoft Windows), and a lot of other improvements.”
In a few weeks I will update this post and give my thoughts on the new Linux Mint 6 “Felicia”. I will test it in one of my laptops to see how it compares to Linux Ubuntu 8.10 and its predecessor, Linux Mint 5 “Elyssa”.
