eivind,

thanks for dropping by. The HP Mini 1000 is said to have the longest battery life among the three laptop brands you mentioned. HP laptops are featured in this site, www.kokeytechnology.com, just search for those models using the search box found above the email subscription box and you'll see the full specs of those notebooks. ;-)

Jessie's last blog post..<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/WhatHaveYou/~3/452625112/" rel="nofollow">Where to Stay in Baguio City for Vacation, Nursing Review or Board Exam</a>

Yup. I did it! After a diskcrash on my Dell Inspiron 500m (bought 2003), due to use of non-Dell memory which overheated the disk, I tried to install XP Prof. on my 260 G USB hard-disk. Blahh!!! Blue screen.
So I thought: Forget it! This is my cue to start with Ubuntu. I found the Ubuntu 8.04 CD I had downloaded and burned a couple of months earlier, booted up and Whoopie! Ubuntu saw the USB disk immediately. Installation went like a wet dream. Now, I have run Ubuntu for 3 weeks. VERY impressed indeed! Guess I'll continue that path. Why bother using windows with almost daily virus/spyware attacks when I can use an OS with HIGH security? If you really need to run windows software, check out Wine, which emulates windows rather good (a bit slow for my old lap, but nevertheless...)
Btw: I am checking out a new mini as a Christmas present to myself? May go for Dell mini9 or HP 1000, maybe even a Acer Aspire One. Anybody know who's best regarding battery-time etc.?
