ZodTTD, the legendary coder of emulators has decided to release version 3.0.5 of Psx4Droid on his website because he can no longer publish it at Google Android Market due to legal reasons. His Psx4Droid is the best software PlayStation and PSP emulator on the Android platform and version 3.0.5 available for free at ZodTTD website.
To those with 1GHz CPU-equipped Android phone, this emulator is going to run fine and will provide endless supply of mobile games. The Psx4Droid, once installed, will let you play any Playstation 1 and PSP ROMs that’s scattered around the internet. I like this ZodTTD’s emulator because it offers saving of game stats and levels and he also coded a very effective multi-touch enabled Dpad controller.
The version 3.0.5 of Psx4Droid is a lot better because it is based on PCSX-ReARMed. It comes with a much-improved CPU emulation technique or dynarec so it is a lot faster. It’s also using a brand new software graphics processing unit but it still supports OpenGL ES 1.1. The creator of Psx4Droid found out that OpenGL ES 1.1 is problematic on some Android devices so he ditched it in favor of software graphics rendering.
He, however, clarifies that Android phones that have the newer Adreno GPUs should Psx4Droid fine in OpenGL ES mode. Kindly donate to ZodTTD as support for creating this wonderful program.
Psx4Droid App 3.0.5 update was released on April 12, 2011. It is expected to do bug fixes for Google Nexus S, SE Xperia PLAY, LG Optimus 2x, Dell Streak and Motorola Xoom with Honeycomb OS.
