Google Chrome, Opera 10 Turbo, Mozilla Firefox, IE8: Which is the Best Web Browser??
Google Chrome vs Opera 10 Turbo vs Mozilla Firefox vs Internet Explorer 8? Which is really the best web browser? This one is tough to answer. First off, when Firefox was updated to 3.54, I have found the update to be more of a headache than a convenience. Recurring problems like unresponsiveness, hangs-ups and high CPU and memory usage were common (and frustrating). Aside from these, Firefox is a very secure browser. Firefox has so many functions built right into it which might explain the reason why it eats too much RAM.

Until now in Firefox version 3.5.4, flash apps like Facebook’s Farm Town consumes 256.6 Mb of memory. This behavior explains why my 6GB system is easily reduced to a crawl by Firefox because when I work, I open a lot of pages simultaneously and Facebook apps are among them. I play Farm Town and Restaurant City. When these apps are open altogether, the browser would suddenly quit and an error message is displayed which I close immediately out of despair.
Since this behavior or shall I say shortcoming on the part of Firefox, I tried other browsers which some of them outperformed Firefox. I was surprised to find other browsers that satisfied my demands.
Opera 10 Turbo is just one good browser that made my online life a little more convenient. With features like Turbo which compresses web pages for faster loading, password manager, inline spell checker, download manager, and to me the customizable Speed Dial which is also available as a plug-in in Firefox really made my browsing a lot faster and a lot easier.
Opera runs Facebook’s Farm Town app with 149.3 Mb of memory. A lot less compared to Mozilla Firefox. With my usual number of open pages compared to Firefox, Opera handles the load a lot better and still with so much open pages, the browser is still very much responsive and during the course of my testing, I never encountered any Firefox-like problems. This makes Opera 10 Turbo a good browser.
Another good browser that I tried is Google Chrome (2.0 designed for Linux and Mac OS X), a super simple browser and very light compared to Firefox and Opera 10 Turbo. Chrome comes very clean and with minimal function buttons. It brings Facebook’s Farm Town app into a speedy fashion and consumes only 59.7 Mb of memory!
Chrome comes with a selection of themes to break the monotony. The theme can be changed as often as you want. These themes are so light and have been created to readily blend with the browser giving it a very professional look and appeal. In the case of Flock, we’ll post several articles about it because like the other browsers mentioned here, it comes with its own flaws. The same thing can be said about the slow or sluggish Safari 4, which failed our basic expectations as of late.
All the browsers mentioned are all good. Depending on your needs and browsing habits, you will definitely find one that suits you. Befriending the browser is the key…
