Digitel DSL: Rumored Digitel DSL System Upgrade

After dealing with Smartbro upgrade, our next story is about Digitel DSL. After coming from the Smartbro office in Laoag City, we immediately went to the Digitel Telecoms office here where the sales manager is my former classmate in the elementary. We went there to follow-up our application for cancellation of line. The original plan was to request for transfer but since their technicians told that there is no port available in our area, we decided to have the line cut for good.

The sales manager said they will come up with something to continue their services to us. My group was hesitant about the idea but I gave in because we really need a second internet connection as backup. I was informed by the Digitel Sales Manager that they will be upgrading their services (Digitel DSL bandwidth) this month of June also just like Smartbro’s move. That’s good I said. This is because a Digitel system upgrade is long overdue – many years overdue, in our view.

From experience, we have been very unfortunate to be victims of poor Digitel facilities and services in the past. I have blogged about this in my other blog before. The 512kbps bandwidth of Digitel DSL is not the problem – it’s the availability of internet connection. Yup! Digitel DSL sucks. That’s a fact among hundreds of thousands of subscribers, not just yours truly. During the first two months, I’ve been really angered by Digitel DSL’s poor services. Either you have no connection or very slow connection. A Digitel DSL system upgrade should have been done years ago because Digitel’s maintenance team is one of the worst. With poor facilities and a slow-moving maintenance team, what can anyone expect from the company’s subscribers?

With this rumored system upgrade, we hope Digitel DSL will be able to provide a more reliable and faster internet connection in the coming years. A hardware upgrade is a must, no doubt. I even told technicians that if their company will continue buying China-made materials for their ports (that easily get damaged by rain, corrosion and hot weather), they will lose subscribers. In the competitive world of internet service, a second class service is never acceptable. IMHO, even if Digitel DSL upgrades its bandwidth to 2Mbps for the price of their 512kbps (Php 999 per month), if the connection is always down, only a few will gain interest in their new offers. And that’s unquestionably bad for business. :-(

    digitel sucks a lot!!! kaya sa mga nagdadalawang isip na mag subscribe sa digitel, according to my experience, NO!!!, WAG!!!..makakalbo ka lang sa inis… POOR INTERNET CONNECTION AND POOR IN TECHNICAL SUPPORT…puputi lng buliga ng mata mo kaka-antay…tatapusin ko lng ung contract ko, aalis na ako d2 sa DIGIHELL NA ETO…DIGITEL’S MOTTO : ” DIGITEL IS A BUSINESS KILLER” …yan ang motto nila…wtf

    I agree with you. Digitel staff and maintenance team are also very slow in addressing problems of customers.

    I totally agree!!! @#^% I really regret getting digiFREAKINtel!! Since I got it last year, connection is slow and now just 2 weeks ago, to have frequent disconnects in my connection. I called the customer service in Manila in which they said the whole area of Angeles City (BTW i’m located in Angeles..forgot to mention) is effected. I tried calling the local office here, they don’t answer their phone! whats up with that!!?!? Why do they offer their internet services but they don’t maintain it properly!!!!????!!! I’m fummin mad!

    count me in as one of so frustrated subscriber of Digitel.

    Sana kung puede sa Pinas na ang isang kumpanya for “breach of contract”…..we are paying them the the exact amount for an advertized service…and yet they (obviously and consistently) fail to deliver theservice they promised.
    Like in my case for example, I subscribed for 1.5 MBPS and what I am getting is only max of .5MBPs.
    Sabi ng CS nila, marami daw naka connect kaya bumabagal.

    Pag nagpadisconnect ka pa…babayad ka pa ulit?
    Asan kaya ang ats natin for the protection of consumers….o talagang ang tawag sa atin “consumers” = consumisyon?

    I am just venting my frustration.Pero kung meon magdedemanda sa digitel sama ako…

    guys i do all agree with your vibration and disperation….but what are we doing???? its time to cut our subscription to digitel…DIGITEL is falling down ..what do we expect??? a system upgrade?? technical training for their maintenance staff?? are you kidding me??

    Count me in for the digitel subscribers that are not satisfied in their service. I subscribe for a 0.5mbps dsl and a landline. I experienced multiple times of disconnection and low speed which is lower than my plan. Mas mabilis pa nga dial up minsan eh…

    With this I am looking for other provider such as Globe DSL…anyone here who has Globe dsl? As I know this provider has a good performance reputation compared to digitel Hell!

    I will cut my subscription to digitel early nexy year…tara na alis na tayo digihell!

    This is TRUE, Im also not satisfied in their service. Im just waiting for the subscription expiration. Laging sira, matagal ang repair, sobrang bagal ng internet connection from 10 am – 9:30 pm.

    Digitel is a big nightmare., dont you ever try to have any tranaction with them coz they suckz. this company are composed of inconpetent people puro mga BOBO! pag panget ang service at tanga mga personel its hopeless……………

    Wag na kayo mag Digitel lagi down kung inde nanakawan dao nang line bigla mawawala dial tone phone or internet lagi wala, pag tinawag mo or ipinunta mo sa office concern mo after 100 years ang response!! tang ina mga yan bulok ang serbisyo nila nagbabayad kami nang maayos tapos bulok ibibigay!!

    I totally agree! i am a subscriber for 2 years and I have a hell of 2 years in my connection… mas mabuti pa ang dial up kasi alam mo na na dial up sya, pero digitel dsl????!?!?!? DSL dapat mabilis di yung intermittent connection, everytime na nakaconnect ako sa digitel dsl gumagawa ako ng ping, mas madami pa request time out kesa hit! kakainis talaga! ang yayabang pa ng technical team nila

    What more can we expect from Digitel. POOR CONNECTION, POOR SERVICES. I recently upgraded my service from 512kbps to 1Mbps, until now wala pa rin . They said within 3-4 business day. Damn them, 1 week na wala pa rin.

    Kung gaano kabilis ang pagpapakabit na akala mo atat na atat sa customers ang walang kwentang company na to, sobrang tindi naman ng pagkawalang bahala sa pagresolba ng mga lintek na problema ng network nila. SOBRANG BAGAL NG SERBISYO.

    Let’s try to encourage all other digitel customers to call digitel dsl hotlines and let’s bombard the company with requests to disconnect ASAP. Kailangan makita nila na maraming tao ang gusto na magcancel ng account. maramdaman nila ang pagkadismaya ng mga tao.

    I just cancelled my account kanina lang, now I am looking for a new ISP.

    HINDING HINDI NA KO GAGAMIT NG DIGITEL. BULOK.

    DSL sucks!!! i hate it.. it went down again. i’m in the verge of terminating this account, what the hell. i just upgrade this service and the whole day i had intermittent connection!!! i check all cables and stuff. as so you know., i’m a web designer and computer technician. calling their tech support is just a waste of time!! telling those lies. thinking that their customers are idiot. i can’t stand this service, paying for the service that im not getting. so upset that this company can’t keep their promise of reliable connection.

    Cguro sa lahat ng nabasa ko ako pinakamalalang experience sa inyo.

    For 6 years naranasan ko lahat ng pasakit ng Digisht..1 month ..2months no DSL nanakaw daw line..hmm more than 7 times nanakawan? ano tanga?? o palusot?? DC every 5 mins..hmm what else up to 3 months follow up on concerns..pero eto ang latest..

    Year 2008. REQUESTED DSL Upgrade from 512 to 1.5mbps..after 2 monhts Yehey Upgraded na Daw yung DSL ko so internet shop to (Checking Dslspeed) test min speed 100..max speed 400+ wtf! ano to eto na ba yun? so hanggang matanggap ko Bill 1.5mbps ang binabayaran ko so.. AH Ok na! So Pinamahala ko muna shop ko sa bayaw ko kac i need to go to my hometown for some problems..nawala na sa isip ko i check ang speed..after 2 years of paying for 1.5mbps plan…next page hehe (wait nyo conclusion sa Ending)

    Year 2010 Full Renovation of my Shop..Upgrade DSL from 1.5 to 3.5mbps (plan4400) applied March 2010..waiting…April…naka escalate daw Waiting…May..Still waiting naka escalate daw.. so from March to april Monitoring my Speed 12 noon speed 100-200kbps wtf…(REMEMBER YEAR 2008 UPGRADED FOR 1.5mbps and paying for it) 3AM speed test..300-470kbps..May 22 2010. Mga Put..ina! ilang taon ako ng bayad ng 1.5mbps plan nyo 512 pa rin speed ko??

    Digitel says: ahh sorry po sir i Indicate ko nlng po dito yung bago nyong concern dun sa DSL speed which is 512 pa din hanggang ngayon … Including your DSL upgrade…is there any other concerns?

    Me: Ah ok! so i need to wait again..for my two concerns?? trying to be nice (sa loob loob ko mga put..ina nyo talaga)

    My next Action.. DEMANDAHAN NA! BREACH OF CONTRACT and kung ano ano pang kaso ma isasampa ko.. abangan nyo ang susunod na eksena

    yes, i agree.. since i subscribe to digitel, it doesnt give any satisfaction to me.. i always get irritated, while im using my net, it always get offline..

    here’s my f*cking story, December 2008 – March 2009 my Phone & DSL Line bug down (ewan ko kung bakit) mga 3 days pa lang report ko na ito sa DIGITEL BUSINESS KILLER BRANCH nila. okay daw within 1 week may pupunta daw na Contractor para ayusin, dumaan ang 1,2,3,4,5 weeks ni anino ng digitel walang dumating. so i reported it again, okay daw aayusin na nila. Eh! putcha umabot na ng MARCH 2009 wala parin. Tapos ito malupit Continue yung billing na dumadating sa bahay namin. DIGITEL SUCKS db!? nagkaroon ako ng time pinuntahan ko na mismo sa branch nila. hinanap ko manager un tsaka lng pinuntahan ng mga Contactor nila. Okay na PHONE & DSL Line, report ko nman yung REBATES (DEC08-MAR09) 3months sya Php. 3k plus ang computed ng manager nila, hintay n lng daw sa mga susunod na billing mag rereflect na daw yung rebates. Eh! Put..Ina nila JUNE 2010 na wala parin yung Rebates na cnabi nila. kaya minsan napuputulan ako ng line kahit hindi nman dapat. kasi nga yung 3k na adjustment andun parin sa account ko. kaya malate lng ako ng 2weeks payment CUT-LINE na ako. eh kung hindi ba nman cla mga PUT..INA nila laging bill ko eh 4k plus dahil nga hindi pa nila adjust. GAGO! nga tlaga. pati yung mga customer services nila wala ng maisagot IISA ang format na cnasabi. iforforward daw nila sa head office, sa more than 10x ako tumawag yan ang sinasabi nila. PUT..INA year 2010 wala parin rebates ko..

    for those people who want to make a step regarding your DIGITEL Problem.. just mail me im willing to support.

    naku kahit ako wala pa rebate ko..dami ko na reklamo sa customer service nila..pwede naman paputol un punta kyo sa digitel ofis tapos reklamo nyo yung nangyayaro at ayaw nyo na sa kanila kasi kulang yung speed..bridge of contract yun..agree kayo na ganun speed bibigay nila at un babayarab mo..kaso nagbabayad ka ng tama hindi naman tama yung speed.. tama kayo DIGIHELL!!

    sakit ng ulo ko sa digitel.sa firts 2 months lang ok ang digitel sa 1.5mbps na plan nila. ngayon,masuerte na kung maka pasok ka ng maayos sa facebook,ang tagal ng loading.di na makabuo sa pakikinig sa youtube,lagi pang lag ang games.\

    panay na mura ng mga customers ko sa shop.

    tawag ka sa cs nila,sasabihin sa yo,kailangan daw pa-upgdare na ako sa 2mbps,kasi daw 8 pcs ko.
    tanungin mo kung sure na bibilis na connection pag magpa-upgrade ako,di makakibo yung sa cs,punta na lang daw ako sa business office nila.

    buti pang lumipat ng pldt,mas mahal nga,mukhang mas ok naman,based sa mga naririnig ko.kasi yung kalaban naming shop pldt,wala namang nagrereklamo na mabagal o lag ang games nila.

    tang-nang digitel yan naka business plan ako 2.5mbps ang nakukuha ko lang .2 eh ndi nga mkapag you tube mga costumer ko 2 weeks na ko natawag sa hotline nilang 1200 eh ganun pa din ang sbi nila pare pareho lang na sir naforward ko na po sa technical group dyan sa lipa naka schedule na po kyo tomorrow eh hanggang ngayon wala pa din pu-tang inga digitel yan maayos lang sa una kasi talaga nmng matutuwa ka kasi mabilis yun pala pababagalin din nila pag tagal tagal biro mo nung may 3 2010 lang ako nag pakabit sa kanila tpos ngyong october biglang biglang bumaba speed ko from 2.5mbps to .2mbps!!!! ndi nga makapag youtube!!! syet kyo digitel!!! ndi ko na babayaran ang mga susunod kong billing yaan mo silang mghabol mga tanga!!!!

    Thanks for all of the awful reviews. I was planning on getting Digitel or PLDT for Meycauayan in Bulacan. It seems both providers have very bad cutomer reviews so you guys saved my ass in a big way and I am going to forget about trying to get wifi in the home. I have Globe contract and will ahve to stick with that. There are not that many problems with this contract we already have.
