In my previous article regarding the super cheap Android OS 2.2 handset from Huawei, I mentioned it will be released before the end of this year. I’m right, it’s coming this November.
Another blogger got a leaked internal document from T-Mobile USA saying that the carrier will be releasing the Huawei Ideos as the T-Mobile Comet on November 3.
The Huawei Ideos made a big buzz when it was first announced at the IFA 2010 conference. It’s the first entry-level smart phone that will ship with Android OS 2.2 Froyo. Huawei also got lauded for promising that the Ideos android phone will sell for $150 unsubsidized!
Looks like Huawei’s promise is coming true. T-Mobile USA will definitely be selling this phone as the rebranded T-Mobile Comet. The guy who leaked the internal document said that the carrier will indeed offer for free under a cheap 2-year service contract.
The rest of the world will also be able to buy the Huawei Ideos U8150 for $150 unlocked and contract-free. This cheap android phone is targeted for first-time smart phone buyers but the specs are really quite decent even for long-time smartphone users like me.
It has Android OS 2.2 for god’s sake. Huawei even included a real 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen display and not a cheap TFT resistive one. The Huawei Ideos U8150-B or T-Mobile Comet will have smartsensors, G-Sensor, Promiximity Sensor, Light Sensor and WiFi b/g/n. Bluetooth and GPS will also be included.
I already have a Samsung Galaxy 5 i5503 Android phone as toy but I am tempted to buy this one too once it gets available on Ebay for a very low price. Based on our research and price comparisons, Huawei Ideos U8150-B is one of the cheapest android phone handsets available in the market these days. The cost of this mobile phone is very affordable even to students who are still dependent on their parents.
