Zap News App Used by CNN Without Permission

October 28, 2009 · Filed Under Internet News

The Zap News App for iPhone 3G/3GS was stolen by CNN! That was the statement of Zap News App creators, Paul and Martin. According to these guys, CNN is currently using their application, Zap News App, without acknowledging its creators. A huge disgrace and embarrassing news for such a respectable company! CNN should have at least asked the permission of Paul and Martin to use the Zap News App instead of stealing the idea. The miffed guys are now posting their YouTube videos as an appeal to CNN.

wow thats pretty low to take an app idea (like the zap news app) and then go charge money for it. I guess CNN steals things like the zap news app created by two geeks who worked their butts off to complete their software, program or app (whatever you want to call it), I wouldn’t put it past them to lie on a day to day to sell their station news slots, you cant even trust the people that are suppose to be bringing current reports on worldwide natural disasters, wars, weather, new breakthrough in world development and whatever else that we depend on them for everyday.

I think it’s all fake. I think CNN is using this as a marketing scheme. The commerical I’ve seen all have iReport in the top corner of the video. Isn’t iReport is a part of CNN? I think Zap is a fake company and that this is just a gimick to get a rise out of people. Reverse psychology at it’s finest. Instead of hating CNN you hate those stupid nerds and want them to fail.

Check out the cheesy wording on the site. It’s just a stupid publicity stunt by a news network that has lacked credibility for years.

    wait what?

They are saying CNN stole their Zap News app? That’s not true. CNN took the idea behind the news application, and created a better more stable news application.

You cannot copyright an idea.. therefore CNN is not at fault.

These zapp guys are just trying to get attention… or they don’t understand copyright laws.

    Either way this is stupid.
