Motorola made a public announcement that their engineers are now working hard to create a fix for the SMS problems being experienced by Motorola Droid X owners. Verizon released the Motorola Droid X Android OS 2.2 Froyo Update last September 23 but initial elation over this long-awaited Froyo OTA update was soon replaced by bitter user complaints. One of the biggest problems that customers are demanding an immediate fix is the one concerning the SMS or text messaging.
Verizon’s patch caused Motorola Droid X problems and errors and owners began to lose SMS notifications and the chronological arrival of text messages was also corrupted. Text messages no longer come in according to their time of receipt. This is a major issue since a lot of Motorola Droid X consumers are avid texters and they hate that their threaded SMS messages are now in chaos! There’s also the issue of typing on the regular keyboard of the Droid X, texting on it is now problematic.
Motorola said they will issue a software patch very soon that will fix the SMS problem, which is obviously a bug. The company refused to issue any specific ETA of this software fix but hopefully, it will come this week. Furthermore, Motorola has so far failed to comment on the battery draining faster and random system restart problems of the Droid X after Android OS 2.2 Froyo was installed.
