Microsoft Yahoo Deal Finally Done | Microsoft-Yahoo Update
The Microsoft Yahoo deal finally came to a close. Microsoft Yahoo tandem has been in the news since February of 2008 and it’s only a few days ago that the two parties inked a partnership covering only search engine inventory in the United States and Canada. In fact, in 2008, many publishers and webmasters were excited to see the Microsoft Yahoo deal happen as some are not really happy with the Google slap (of their site’s page rank and search engine position).
According to Computer World,
The deal, limited to search inventory in the U.S. and Canada, represented an opportunity for about $800 million in revenue, Yahoo said. At the end of its first full year of implementation, the deal would generate between $250 million and $450 million in incremental operating cash flow for Yahoo.
Our team’s view of the newly-forged Microsoft Yahoo partnership is that it will be more beneficial to Bing, Microsoft’s newly-introduced search engine that is truly gaining some attention from users worldwide for its ease-of-use and relevant search results. Is the Microsoft Yahoo deal a threat to Google and its dominance in the the search engine market? We’ll follow up on this after gathering more data and evaluation of this situation.
