Adobe Lightroom 3.4 RC Free Download and Update Fixes Some DSLR Camera Problems
The folks at Adobe Labs announced the availability of Adobe Lightroom version 3.4 RC or Release Candidate. Interested people may now download it free from this link – http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/lightroom3-4.html. The Release Candidate tag for version 3.4 means this free update is almost done but still needs final community testing before commercial launching. All features for the final product are already enabled for Adobe Lightroom 3.4 RC.
Adobe Labs has issued version 3.4 Release Candidate (RC) for their popular digital image management program, Lightroom.
The Lightroom development team at Adobe Labs says version 3.4 comes with several fixes and support for more digital cameras and lenses. Adobe Lightroom 3.4 RC is now compatible with the latest digital camera models such as Canon EOS 600D, Canon EOS 1100D, Hasselblad H4D-40, Olympus E-PL1s, Olympus E-PL2, Olympus XZ-1 and Samsung NX11.
Several problems and issues fixed in this version are:
- Publish collections did not work properly if the sort order is set to descending. (“Z to A”).
- Using the up/down arrow keys or the mouse wheel to adjust a parameter while the graduated filter is activated caused increments of plus or minus 100 instead of 1.
- Interlacing artifacts, and a slight magenta cast in the deepest shadows could have appeared on some high-contrast edges of Canon mRaw files.
- Video files were allowed to be added to a SmugMug publish collection not capable of supporting video uploads.
- Folder creation caused an expanded folder hierarchy to close unexpectedly in the Library Module.
- Lightroom encountered issues presenting double-byte character metadata after the image was edited on Photoshop.com.
- A magenta color cast could have appeared on Nikon D7000 images if the multi-exposure feature was used with raw capture.
Macintosh users may install Adobe Lightroom 3.4 RC along side any version of Lightroom 3 but Windows owners are advised that installing Lightroom 3.4 RC will remove or overwrite existing Lightroom 3 installation.
The Adobe Lightroom 3.4 RC will automatically expire on May 31, 2011. The Lightroom team encourages all users to report bugs to the Adobe Labs forum.
