Apple iLife ’11 with Major Improvements to iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand
Apple computers buyers know that iLife is one of the best free software bundles out there. It comes free with every purchase of a new Mac OS X product. I am a Photoshop expert but I regularly use iMovie and GarageBand for multimedia projects.
Now Steve Jobs unveiled the new iLife ’11 software bundle at the “Back to the Mac” event. It’s available for free to new purchasers of Mac computers like the new Macbook Air models. But people who want to upgrade to the 2011 version of iLife may do so by buying it for only $49!
Jobs proudly stated, “This has go to be some of the highest value software in the world.” He is right, iLife ’11 is really one of the best digital media management and editing software package!
Apple said iPhoto ’11 gets a new look and now has full screen modes for Faces, Places, and Events. Meanwhile, iMove ’11 is revamped to make editing videos a lot more easy and faster. GarageBand ’11 now got more ways for you to play and create top-caliber songs with FlexTime and Groove Matching.
I’m greatly tempted to shell out $49 for an upgrade to iLife ’11. This version really has major improvements. Here’s a list of these tempting new add-ons:
iPhoto ’11
- New full screen modes
- Facebook enhancements
- Easy to e-mail photos
- New slideshows, including themes like Places
- A big leap in books
- New letterpress cards
iMovie ’11
- All new audio editing
- One step effects
- People Finder
- News and sports themes
- Automatic Movie trailers creation
GarageBand ’11
- Flex Time
- Groove Matching
- More guitar amps & effects
- New piano and guitar lessons.
- New feature: “How did I play?” – will help you become a better musician, it listens as you actively play with the music you made. It tells you if you are doing right or you need improvement.
