Positive Samsung SP-H03 Pico Projector Review: There are now a number of pico projectors in the market but all of them are priced too high. Potential buyers were not only turned-off by the high cost of pico projectors but also got dismayed by their tiny storage capacity and low level of brightness. Samsung wants to change this with their first-ever pico projector product called the Samsung SP-H03 Pico Projector. It’s a very compact pico projector that only measures 2.5 x 1.5 x 2.5 inches and weighs a mere 6 ounces. The SP-H03 Pico Projector is a pocket-worthy product and it will start selling by the end of June (target release date in the market) at a very affordable price of $300!
Samsung has always been known for selling low-priced but high-quality products and the SP-H03 is no different. The company is reaching out to wary customers by selling this projector way below competing products such as the AAXA L1 which retails for $599.00. It should be noted that the SP-H03 is not only cheaper than the AAXA L1, it offers bigger internal storage capacity and higher brightness levels. Samsung’s product ships with 1GB internal memory which is expandable up to another 16GB via the microSD expansion slot. The AAXA L1 has only 160MB internal memory which is expandable via USB slot and ships with only 2GB of free USB thumb drive.
The SP-H03 also offers the brightest lens for a pico projector at 30 lumens brightness rating. It produces brilliants images up to 50-inch size using WVGA (854×480) resolution. Corporate officers will no longer be burdened with heavy projector units since this pico projector can output the same vibrant high-quality images that are just perfect for board room presentations. The weak 1W speaker of the SP-H03 can easily be remedied by plugging it into a speaker system.
Samsung did not skimp on this projector. It made deals with other companies which allowed them to make the SP-H03 compatible with all major proprietary media formats like AVI, MP4, ASF, MPG, RM, FLV, WMV, WVA, WMA, FLAC, APE, and RA files. This pocket-size projector is the ultimate mobile presentation tool for professionals. Its hardware is comparable with regular-size projectors and it can play almost any media file. The only downside I can see so far is the battery-life. This is obviously a side-effect of the 30 lumens brightness rating which drains the battery fast. It can only support up to 2 hours of continuous usage. But it’s not a deal-breaker, just find a nearby power socket and off you go again. The cheap price of the SP-HO3 makes it the top choice for pico projectors.
