OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 2.5-inch 480GB Solid State Drive (SSD) [Update]
This morning I received an email from Grant Dahlke of macsales.com about our OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 2.5-inch 480GB SSD Review. Grant asked if I could change some info about their product, which he thinks are misstatements in the previous post we have published here. There are 2 things he pointed out that were misstatements in our article. The guy was courteous and sounded very professional in his email so I decided to update readers of this site on matters he discussed in that email.
1. On the statement ““But OWC is optimistic it will move at least 10,000 units of the OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 480GB before 2010 ends.” Grant claims that their company does not set projections on the volume of OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 2.5-inch 480GB Solid State Drives they intend to ship this year.

2. On the statement “”Highly secure… all data automatically stored in AES-128 encrypted format.” Grant stated that the proper phrasing should be “Chip Based Data Encryption 128-bit AES-compliant” for the security of data stored in their 480GB Solid State Drive.
Since the writer of the previous article is my friend and has served this site well since January, I called the guy and asked him about the two things mentioned above. First, he cannot recall which website he got the info from so we two could verify this. This is not uncommon for online publishers. I cannot blame him because I myself am guilty of the same mistake at times. With all the online research we do on gadgets, high-tech devices, sometimes we get overwhelmed with so much info online. To remedy this, we contact the manufacturers to verify, say their product’s release date. We go the distance to bring you the most accurate info about news and gadgets found in this site and we will acknowledge our mistakes if you can point them out in a nice way.
