Spinning Hat Typescreen for iPad: Old-Style iPad Docking Typewriter
I would like to congratulate the genius at Spinning Hat who thought up this new amazing accessory for the Apple iPad. The Typescreen for iPad evokes the delicious pleasure I used to feel typing on my old Olivetti typewriter! I once fancied myself as the next Hemingway back in my college years at the University of the Philippines.
Converting old typewriters to iPad docks that can type on its touchscreen was such as clever idea - two thumbs up for Spinning Hat Typescreen.
Anyway, the smarty-pants at Spinning Hat created this classic typewriter dock for the iPad. The Spinning Hat Typescreen is a real typewriter kit that plugs in to the 30-pin Apple port of your iPad or iPad 2. Just like your old grandma, you can really exercise your fingers on this accessory! I think I can really write a novel if I am still using my old Olivetti. Unfortunately, my friend borrowed it in 2001 and never gave it back!
Unlike the Hammacher Audio Light Bulb that can be used with all iOS devices, Typescreen was solely made for the iPad. As per Spinning Hat’s warning, the Typescreen is a limited edition product because it is hard to find typewriters to convert. I would love to order this now but my Visa card expired last February and I’m still waiting for my bank to renew it.
Hopefully, it will still be available in 2 weeks time. I hate typing on virtual keyboards! My fingers are big and clumsy. I’m sure I’m not the only one wishing for a better way to type in our iPad. The Spinning Hat Typescreen is one of the brilliant iPad accessories that many iPad and iPad 2 owners who aren’t used to virtual keyboards should have.
