Forget about tablet computers for now, Pioneer’s engineers decided they don’t want to make a tiny touchscreen computer. They decided they want to build the world’s largest tablet PC for corporate officers. This isn’t like ordinary desktop PC because it’s a desk and computer in one. The new Pioneer WWS-DT101 52″ Multitouch Table is a full-function office table that incorporates a giant 52-inch touchscreen computer on top!

Pioneer WWS-DT101 Touchscreen PC and Office Table Features

Move over iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom, Pioneer's got a really cool 52-inch touchscreen computer in an office table!

Pioneer WWS-DT101 52″ Multitouch Table Computer product is dubbed as an interactive discussion table for managers and office personnel. It is more like an all-in-one PC not a portable tablet computer. It will arrive in Japan for yet to be announced final price. This 52-inch tablet computer will be powered by a 2nd-gen Intel Core i7 processor and it will have a 6GB of DDR3 RAM. It will run under a Windows 7 64-bit OS for true multi-tasking. It will definitely be the largest Windows 7 tablet computer.

Pioneer is using a secret and proprietary technology to create this 52-inch multi-touch capable screen. It is based on HDTV technology but far more superior. You can manipulate documents and media files with just a touch of your finger. The Pioneer WWS-DT101 also comes equipped with the cutting-edge TransferJet technology which is a close-range proximity wireless file transfer protocol. You can transfer files from a nearby workstation, iPad, smartphone up to 560Mpbs speed. Just press the TransferJet button and you get instant file transfers no matter how large they are!

The Pioneer WWS-DT101 52″ Multitouch Table/Computer also features an embedded PFU Scan Snap S1100 scanner which lets users scan any time of printed document. Instead of watching a projected Powerpoint slideshow on a wall, company employees can just stare down on this table while they sip their coffee! I just hope they don’t get neck cramps from using this for long durations.

On the other side of the fence, I think if I’m the boss and the Pioneer WWS-DT101 is in my office, I will most probably use it to play games and watch hilarious videos on Youtube. Better maximize the dollars spent by also using it give us some daily stress relief!
