Aptera 2e: All-Electric Car of the Future
Aptera 2e is an all-electric car manufactured and distributed by Aptera Motors, Inc. Aptera 2e is viewed by many as one of the cars of the future since trend in business is leaning towards the use of more “green technology”. One of the eco-friendly products earlier featured in this site was Motorola W233 Renew cell phone. Because Aptera 2e is truly an eco-friendly automobile, it is worth being featured as well.
According to Wikipedia (and external sources),
“The Aptera 2 Series (formerly the Aptera Typ-1) is a high-efficiency passenger vehicle, currently in the final stages of design by Aptera Motors. They are currently accepting pre-orders from California residents. The fuel efficiency of 300 mpg-US (0.78 L/100 km) when plugged in every 120 miles (190 km) would make it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the world.
Aptera 2e All-Electric Car: Eco-friendly
Aptera Motors claims the Aptera 2 Series accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in less than 10 seconds with a top speed over 85 mph (137 km/h). Their first vehicle will be the all-electric Aptera 2e (formerly the Typ-1e), with plans for a follow-on plug-in hybrid Aptera 2h (formerly the Typ-1h). They are aiming to price the 2-series from the mid-$20,000s to mid-$40,000s depending on drive-train and other options.”
I would definitely want an Aptera 2e for my service car but there is one small problem – it’s way too expensive in my opinion. In the long run, though, I think Aptera 2e could be one of the answers to our growing problem on global warming. In the Philippines, the “Electric Jeep” was introduced and now in Greater Manila Area, some of these electric jeeps are being put to good use. We hope to see more innovations like these in the future in order to help protect our environment better.

I am happy to hear that they’re working on the 2nd generation Aptera. To be honest, their success depends on the price. The top price of $40,000 is really a bit too much for a basic two-seater. I know how difficult it is to perfect an electric car but I doubt people would pay more than $30,000 for it.
