Google Launches Gmail Autopilot for Gmail and Google Chat
Gmail Autopilot launched! The Big G (Google) launched its experimental software Gmail Autopilot which has a certain level of artificial intelligence such that when someone sends you an email, Gmail automatically answers it depending on the keywords used in the letter sent. Gmail Autopilot was designed make email communications a bit easier to Google Mail users. However, as a programmer, the algorithm of Gmail Autopilot has yet to be perfected. Fortunately, Google made no such claim about the autopilot software.
In addition, if two individuals exchanging emails through Gmail, the autopilot can send emails intelligently to and from the sender and receiver. There is a limitation on Gmail Autopilot, though. In the case where two individuals have their Autopilots ON, Google’s tests showed that the reliability of Gmail Autopilot in answering emails intelligently and convincingly is limited to 3 emails back and forth. Beyond that, the reliability rating is low. Gmail autopilot can also be used in Gmail Chat, a part of the Google Gmail platform.
With this new development in the autopilot software, we think it still has to undergo so many improvements. In emails, there are certain words and phrases that the receiver of an email can attribute to a sender. This is called “diction” and familiarity. Just like text messaging, you just know if the one texting you is your brother, sister, or girlfriend. Gmail Autopilot, at this point in time may lack a very high level of “humanness” but what can anyone expect from an autopilot software? Let’s give Gmail Autopilot the needed time to improve. I’m pretty sure Google can come up with something bigger and better in due time.
