Sony PlayStation Move: PS3 Motion Controller Unveiled at GDC 2010
Sony Computer Entertainment unveiled its funky motion controller called “Playstation Move” at GDC 2010. Previously rumored as the Gem or Arc Controller, Sony has declared its official name as the PlayStation Move and it will launch worldwide this coming Fall 2010 (release date). PS3 Move is going to be a hit and other experts believe so too. As of this writing, Playstation 3 gaming console owners have begun sending us emails about the Playstation Move’s price, product specs and other info. Here are some things we know about the PlayStation 3 MOVE motion controller at the moment.

The PlayStation Move seeks to offer a revolutionary gaming experience on the Playstation 3 console. It will enable full motion-based and low-latency control of high definition 3D games. Much like the Nintendo Wii, the PlayStation Move is a remote device that interacts with PlayStation 3 games through the kinetic hand movements of a player. It is a one-hand device but Sony Computer Entertainment also announced that the PlayStation Move controller will be bundled with a Sub-controller and PlayStation Eye Camera. This motion-based accessory kit will retail around for around $100. Consequently, new buyers of the PlayStation 3 may purchase the PlayStation Move controller kit with it.
Playstation Move Packages for sale will be as follows and low prices are expected for these items:
- Camera + controller (including a “starter disc” with a range of demos for games releasing later in the year)
- A single controller for people who already have a PlayStation Eye camera
- A full console pack which includes PS3, dualshock3, Move controller + camera
- Finally some of the biggest PS3 games will be available with a Move controller included
