New PS3 Slim Backwards Compatibility Issue: Is the New Playstation 3 Backwards Compatible?
As the new PS3 Slim release date gets near, more and more video gamers are getting concerned with compatibility issues. Is the new PS3 slim backwards compatible??? Sony did not indicate that the new slim PS3 is backwards compatible with older PS2 games. Will this discourage Playstation 3 players despite the price drop set by Sony? Maybe not. But if you are bothered whether or not the Slim PS3 is backwards compatible with games that you can play with PS2, then this issue will certainly affect you.
FYI, the price drop set by Sony is $100 on their new Slim PS3 console! Sounds fun, especially during recession, huh? From the original $399 selling price of Playstation 3 consoles, buyers can now purchase the slim version for only $299. Preorder on Amazon is ongoing but we recommend that if you intend to buy this item, read more about Amazon’s purchase limit policy on the 120GB Slim PS3. As a friendly reminder, check with your Slim PS3 vendor also if the video games you intend to buy or have bought are backwards compatible with PS2 machines. If yes and you have the money, then go for it! Additional devices might be needed to make the New Slim PS3 backwards compatible with PS2.
