The Wii Motion Plus Controller is one of the accessories for Nintendo Wii gaming console. This Nintendo Wii Motion Plus Controller was introduced through a press release in July 14, 2008. It was officially released in Japan on June 8, 2009 then followed by Europe on June 12, 2009.

At present, the Wii Motion Plus by Nintendo supports almost 20 video games including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game and Racket Sports. This motion controller will also be supporting Red Steel 2, an upcoming video game by Ubisoft.

For its promotion, Nintendo released this television commercial using the Nintendo Wii Motion Plus Controller used in Wii Sports Resort video games.

As an additional promo, Nintendo’s Wii Motion Plus Controller was also played by Alvin, Simon and Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 – The Squeakquel 2009 Movie.

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus Controller is what inspired Sony to develop their own motion controller for their PlayStation gaming console. To compete with Wii Motion Plus, the Sony PS3 motion controller which is formally called the Sony PlayStation Move is upcoming this 2010.
