The small size of the Apple iPod Nano 6th Generation with Multi-Touch MP3 player has inspired other companies and designers to create new products incorporating it. There are already some cheap & trendy wristwatch/iPod Nano combo products on the market today. But an Australian engineer has hit upon the brilliant idea of recreating the iPod Nano into a classic pocket watch that used to be famous back the in the old days. His iPocketWatch is an elegant throwback to the past and this premise alone makes it a big winner in my book!
The engineer who conceptualized this product says the iPocketWatch is a pocket watch case for the Apple iPod Nano MP3 Player. It is made from aircraft-grade aluminum and hand-finished to maximum quality standard. He is offering two designs, a standard square fascia and the interchangeable round fascia. Both of these models will perfectly fit the new small iPod Nano. The overall-size of the iPocketWatch is small enough to fit the small jeans pocket (just like iPod Shuffle 4th Generation) on top of the regular front pocket on the right size of your jeans!
The iPocketWatch MP3 player comes with a 30 cm. silver chain with a belt hook which lets it be firmly secured to your belt. Take this product around the office and impress your mates by whipping out the iPocketWatch like a classic 19th Century gentleman. Tell of them the time and then use your fingers to playback your favorite MP3 music! I’m sure they will be surprised that your vintage pocket watch is actually capable of playing digital songs!
Using the iPod Nano MP3 player inside the iPocketWatch is easy but the Square Fascia model is more comfortable because you get quick access to the touch screen, all buttons, the headphone jack and the power/data dock. We’re not even sure if it’s compatible with eXo Xciter Bluetooth Wireless Surface Speaker. Furthermore, the clip behind the Apple iPod Nano is still useable should you want to clip the iPocketWatch to your shirt pocket.
The Round Fascia model of the iPocketWatch means you won’t have access to the controls displayed on the corner of the iPod Nano but the engineer who made this product assured that most operations can be achieved quickly, including swiping the screen, song change, and menu scrolling.
The iPocketWatch’ retail price will only be $79.99 in the US and Canada once its release date arrives.
