Samsung may have wowed many people at IFA 2010 tech show in Berlin, Germany with their 65-inch Samsung UN65C8000 3D LED TV and their Samsung Galaxy Tab Android Tablet PC but they aren’t the only Korean company that made big splash. LG Electronics also created a loud approving buzz for their innovative LG Smart TV product. The rush for making appliances web-ready has infected television sets and a lot of them went on display at the IFA event in Berlin. But pundits are raving about LG Smart TV due to its net-savvy design and Wii-like controller!
The LG Smart TV is aptly named because LG’s Smart TV product is web-ready, the screen features a dashboard-style User Interface that’s common to most modern smart phones. This dashboard houses a lot of widget apps, including Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter, YouTube, Picasa, Gmail and other web-famous brands!
The easy one-click access to your favorite internet hotspots is one very compelling reason to buy this LG Smart TV.
Other net-connected TV products may also feature the same one-click access to the web but LG Smart TV’s Wii-like Magic Motion Remote Controller trumps the competition. This controller lets you point and click to manipulate the LG Smart TV’s screen rather than using the simple old remote control style.
Just like a Nintendo Wii Motion Plus Controller, you can use the Magic Motion Remote Controller like a wand or tool. For example, you can use it as a paint brush to color objects in a coloring-book app!
Aside from having an innovative controller, the LG Smart TV will also feature LG’s Media Link Technology which is a proprietary system for wireless synchronization between all LG electronic products.
As per their media release, Media Link will offer:
“Instant access to online videos and images; users can easily upload things they’ve created themselves. And with a smartphone, leaving the house doesn’t mean missing one’s favorite programme because content can be delivered wirelessly. Whether connecting to an iPad, PCs, personal media players or home theatre systems, LG is expanding the reach of entertainment to every part of people’s lives”.
LG company representatives present at IFA 2010 said the LG Smart TV will be ready for shipping early 2011. They however declined to give any price quotations for LG Smart TV and actual release date in the UK, US, India, China and worldwide. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, LG is known for selling great products at very affordable prices!
